Diploma in Capital Markets (DCM)
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Sri Lanka has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chartered Institute for Securities Investments (CISI), UK to jointly offer the Diploma in Capital Markets (DCM) programme. DCM is included in the qualification framework introduced to provide advanced knowledge on capital market theories and financial products. Obtaining this qualification will pave the way for middle and higher level capital market professionals to enter into the areas such as Banking, Stock Broking, Fund Management, Investment Banking, Corporate Financing, Venture Capital etc.

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment is the leading professional body for securities,investment, wealth and financial planning professionals. Dedicated to professionalism since it emergedfrom the London Stock Exchange in 1992, its purpose is to champion lifelong learning and integrity,raising individual standards of knowledge, skills and behaviour globally to enhance public trust andconfidence in financial services.

Candidates that successfully complete the DCM programme will receive a joint Diploma in Capital Markets awarded by SEC and CISI. In addition candidates will also receive International certificate in Wealth & Investment Management and Risk in Financial Service award from CISI.

A jointly branded programme with the CISI will provide the exposure to the candidates on global best
practices and will support capacity building in the financial sector. Further, the SEC-CISI Diploma will
provide an opportunity for the local candidates in obtaining a reputed international qualification at a very
affordable price.”
